Vive La Martiniere !
(Operates when school is open. Subject to permission)
La Martiniere College stands as a unique educational institution in India, deeply rooted in the traditions of British-Indian education. While it has adapted to honor and acknowledge independent India, many customs endure, fostering discipline and pride in its students while preserving a sense of history. This is evident in the school’s distinctive features, such as its own pipe band, military training within the curriculum, stables for horse-riding instruction, the hoisting of its own flag, and its buglers. The morning chapel service, the choirs singing hymns, and the morning assembly are truly remarkable traditions to witness.
Furthermore, several special occasions throughout the academic year offer a glimpse into the school’s rich heritage. These include Constantia Day (October 1st), Republic Day (January 26th), Independence Day (August 15th), Teachers’ Day (September 5th), Founder’s Day (September 13th), and events like the Hodson’s Run and the Hashman’s Inter-Platoon and Inter-Wing Drill (a sample six-month calendar is available on our website, subject to change).
Enhance your visit to Lucknow by including this unique experiential tour of La Martiniere College.
