Taste of Labour
The sentiment about a labourer’s hard-earned daily bread truly resonates. Those who work tirelessly at construction sites, erecting buildings, making roads, and building our nation, often conclude their day with a simple yet heartfelt meal. Prepared with limited resources but with immense spirit, this humble cuisine is something we at Tornos have come to deeply appreciate, and we’ve named it ‘Taste of Labour.’
It’s a basic yet nourishing meal, with the unique element of their day’s hard work adding an indescribable flavour. We would like to offer you an experience at a construction site, where you can witness the dinner preparation firsthand, just as the day’s labour concludes. You’ll learn the step-by-step cooking process, from the initial lighting of the fire to the final plating of the meal. Each stage is remarkable – the distinct way they light the fire, the method of crushing garlic with the base of a steel glass, or even how bread is rolled with a makeshift rolling pin – all are unique characteristics of this labourer’s cuisine.
We truly believe that the style of cooking and the taste of the food prepared by labourers on roadsides, at construction sites, or in their temporary shelters is unparalleled.
