(Same day return trip, 8 hours, including driving time & visits)

|| Teerath var Naimish vikhyata, ati puneet sadhak sidhi daata ||

(Among pilgrimages, Naimisharanya is the most important. It is the holiest of all that gives supernatural powers)

Naimisharanya, an ancient and significant pilgrimage site. Revered in the Puranas alongside Prayag, Pushkar, Kedar, Setubandh, and Gokaran, Naimisharanya is steeped in history and spirituality. Legend has it that eighty-eight thousand sages meditated here. It is also the place where Maharishi Dadhichi, after bathing in the sacred Kund, selflessly offered his bones to Lord Indra to create a powerful weapon to defeat the demon Vritasur. A visit to Naimisharanya is considered an essential part of the Hindu pilgrimage circuit.

Our itinerary includes a morning departure from Lucknow at 08:00 hrs, taking approximately 2 hours to cover the 115 km journey. Upon arrival, we will explore Chakra Tirth, a sacred pond believed to have formed when Lord Vishnu’s divine wheel fell to earth. Here, we will also visit a unique Lord Shiva temple that houses an idol of Lord Vishnu alongside Lord Shiva. Our next stop is the Lalitha Devi temple, a significant Shaktipeetha where the heart of Goddess Sati is said to have fallen. We will also visit Vyas Gaddi, the very spot where Maharishi Ved Vyas is believed to have penned the Vedas and where Sage Sukdev first recited the Shri Satyanarayan Katha. Our exploration continues with a visit to Pandava Qila, the fort where the Pandavas resided during their exile, and the Hanuman Garhi temple, home to a majestic standing idol of Lord Hanuman.

As an optional addition, we can also visit Mishrik, located about 15 km from Naimisharanya, to see Dadhichi Kund. This sacred pond is believed to contain waters from various holy rivers and commemorates the sacrifice of Sage Dadhichi, who took his final holy dip here before offering his bones to create the weapon that vanquished the demon Vritasur, restoring peace to the world.
